Registration for SOMA 52 is now open!
This year’s Southern Ontario Model United Nations Assembly will take place from April 28-April 30, 2025. We plan on a fully in-person event, with all committees hosted across buildings at the University of Toronto.
Over the years, SOMA has established itself as one of North America’s most prestigious secondary-school-level conferences; it is the oldest high-school-run MUN conference in the world, annually attracting 600 delegates from across North America. SOMA strives to deliver the values of the United Nations: diplomacy, cooperation, and peaceful problem-solving achieved through compromise and discussion. The Secretariat is working to deliver an engaging and nuanced conference, building in new directions on the achievements of our predecessors.
Registration Timeline:
To make the registration process as smooth as possible and to reserve spaces, it is recommended that delegation form and payment be completed by March 2nd, 2025. The regular registration fee is $110.00 per delegate BUT schools are encouraged to take advantage of our Early-bird rate of $90.00 - eligible between Nov 25, 2024 - Jan 12, 2025. Please note that full payment must be made at the time of registration.
Faculty Advisors should complete registration and payment on behalf of their students no later than March 2nd. The Secretariat will send out country assignments by March 28th. If your school has an internal application process to attend SOMA, the Secretariat recommends the deadline for applications to be set for no later than March 1st.
Note, In the event that your school needs to change the number of registered delegates, we ask that you let us know immediately so that we can make those changes. Requests for additional delegate spots will only be accepted until February 23rd, 2025 so we can adequately accommodate new delegates.
The delegate fees paid to UTS in this form can be fully reimbursed until March 2nd, 2025, 50% reimbursed until March 28th, 2025 and 25% reimbursed until April 11th, 2025. These deadlines are firm. All cancellations made after April 11th, 2025 are non-refundable. All cancellations and adjustments must be made by contacting: soma@utschools.ca.
